As one of Australia’s most photographed places, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is, along with the Opera House, a much-loved symbol of Australia. Nicknamed the coat hanger, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is where Sydney’s spectacular New Year’s eve fireworks occur every year, kickstarting festivities worldwide.
But the best way to really get a feel for the Bridge is to do a BridgeClimb. Here are 3 reasons why Sydney’s Bridge Climb is a must-do family activity
Getting the family together on a BridgeClimb is an unforgettable bonding experience. It’s an opportunity for quality time with the kids outdoors and free of screen distractions. As you climb you all learn about Australia’s history while taking in Sydney’s spectacular, and sparkling harbour views.
Show and tell after a Bridge Climb is easy because each climber receives a certificate of achievement, a BridgeClimb cap, a group photo and a free pass to The Pylon Lookout Museum. Families can also record an 8-second video from the top of the Bridge. If the actual experience doesn’t give the kids enough bragging rights at school, any of the included souvenirs make for an easy show and tell.
Whether their hero is David Beckham, Prince Harry or Katy Perry, kids love to know they are walking in the footsteps of their favourite celebrity. The Climb Base has a great celebrity wall which is a fun place to hang-out before the climb and let the excitement begin.

BridgeClimb offers three different climbs to choose from. There are also speciality climbs that you can arrange (e.g. birthday climbs) if you want to do something extra special. The main climb options are:
Kids aged 8 years and older can climb and you only need a moderate level of fitness. Throughout the experience you will climb over 1,000 stairs, however the guides stop often so it’s not too strenuous. All the equipment is provided so you don’t need to bring anything other than closed in, rubber soled shoes.
